Hair Loss Treatment

You Deserve More Than "It's Probably Stress."

Hair loss is complex, deeply personal, and far more treatable than most patients are told — when it's evaluated properly. I conduct one of the most comprehensive hair loss workups available, anywhere in the country.

Who This Is For

For Everyone Who Has Been Told There's Nothing More to Do.

Most of my hair loss patients have already been through the system. They've seen one, two, sometimes four or five other dermatologists. They've been given minoxidil and told to come back in six months. They've been told their labs are normal.

They come to me because something is still being missed. And usually, I find it.

Multiple dermatologists, no answers Thinning around perimenopause Patchy or total hair loss Scarring alopecia diagnosis Suspected hormonal or immune cause Sudden hair loss in teens/young adults
Conditions I Treat

Every Type of Hair Loss Has a Different Story.

The right treatment begins with the right diagnosis — and that requires understanding which type of hair loss you have, what's driving it, and how far it has progressed. I evaluate and treat the full spectrum.

Leading global expert

Alopecia Areata

An autoimmune condition where the immune system attacks hair follicles, causing patchy or total hair loss. I am one of the leading experts and prescribers of JAK inhibitors for this condition globally.

Androgenetic Alopecia

The most common form of hair loss in both men and women. I routinely include a full metabolic workup — including insulin levels and nutritional markers — because these factors directly affect follicle health.

International expert

Lichen Planopilaris

A rare, progressive scarring condition that can permanently destroy follicles if untreated. Early intervention and precise treatment are critical — and I have the experience to deliver both.

Dissecting Cellulitis

A chronic inflammatory condition causing painful nodules and scarring alopecia. Requires specialized management and consistent follow-up.

Acne Keloidalis Nuchae

A chronic inflammatory condition at the back of the scalp causing scarring and hair loss, most common in men with coily hair. Requires a systematic approach to prevent progression.

Other Forms of Alopecia

I evaluate and treat all forms of hair loss, including telogen effluvium, traction alopecia, and hair loss associated with systemic illness, nutritional deficiency, or medication.

My Approach

I Look at What Other Doctors Don't Think to Check.

When a patient connects with me about hair loss, I don't go straight to treatment. I go to the source.

For autoimmune cases, I evaluate the full immune history: prior hospitalizations, allergies, family patterns of immune disease, and whether there's a genetic component that explains why the immune system is targeting the follicles.

For all types of hair loss, I run a metabolic workup — because poor blood flow around the follicles caused by insulin resistance can drive or worsen any form of hair thinning, even when the patient's blood sugar looks normal.

The result is a treatment plan built on what's actually happening in your body — not what's statistically most common.

What to Expect

Your First Consultation: A Real Investigation.

01

Before the Appointment

Send any prior lab results, biopsy reports, or records you have. I review everything in advance so the visit focuses on analysis — not on catching up.

02

During the Consultation

I take a detailed history of your hair loss — when it started, how it's progressed, what treatments you've tried. I also review your immune history, metabolic markers, hormone levels, and family background. I will ask to see your scalp via video — clear lighting makes a significant difference in what I can assess remotely.

03

After the Evaluation

I discuss my clinical impression, the labs I want to order, and your treatment options — medications, lifestyle modifications, and next steps. You leave with a clear plan and a genuine understanding of what's happening.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers Before Your First Consultation

It depends on the type and duration of hair loss. For many autoimmune conditions like alopecia areata, significant regrowth is possible with the right treatment — including newer JAK inhibitors that have changed outcomes dramatically. For androgenetic alopecia, the goal is stabilization and improvement. I'll give you an honest assessment of what's realistic for your specific case.

Not necessarily. Standard lab panels often miss key markers — particularly fasting insulin levels, which can be elevated even when blood sugar looks normal. That elevated insulin affects blood flow to your follicles and can significantly worsen hair loss. I order a more complete panel to get the full picture.

Stress can play a role in some types of hair loss, but it's often used as a catch-all explanation when the real cause hasn't been identified. For autoimmune hair loss, the immune system is overactive — not simply stressed. It's worth finding out which category you're actually in.

Yes — and this is one of the most rapidly evolving areas of dermatology. JAK inhibitors have transformed outcomes for alopecia areata. New therapies targeting additional immune pathways are in trials. I stay at the leading edge of this research and will discuss what's currently available for your specific case.

Certain conditions may require in-person care. I'll be transparent about what can be managed via telehealth and what requires a physical visit. I'm planning to open an in-person clinic in Arizona and will update patients as that becomes available.
